THE NEW IN THE OLD
One thing I realised as a young believer was that I tried to place God in my old life. I was so sure that God could fit into my old life and I could just go on as I pleased. So I would usually use this phrase “God understands” and then move on. So I was a struggling believer, I would try and read the bible which was so difficult because I could read like 3 chapters and yet I would not understand a thing so I would just pick up my phone and give up on reading the word. So when I was in church I would manipulate people with the words I already stored up in my brain so everyone would be like “be like her she reads her bible” then I discovered that the letter kills. For me to be able to understand the spiritual, I have to let go of this physical thinking. So I talked with a brother of mine (more like a mentor) then he referred me to this passage in the bible and told me to make it my daily prayer
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 1:17-18 KJV”
Many at times, we say this phrase God understands and then try to fit God into a certain place in our daily lives. So we make God our saviour and refuse to make him our Lord. Every day we get up from our bed and the first thing on our mind is our phones or that business call we have been expecting and we call God our father. Don’t try placing the new life you have in christ into your old life you used to live. The new life is new, let go of the former things you use to do that is a sin and let God dwell richly in your heart and thirsty for the new life in Him. Read the love letter from God every day and talk with God. He is your father and he is ever ready to communicate with you. Don’t forget to talk to your Father today !!

Who is God to you???
Growing up my ideology of God was that “He has got to be the most wicked person I know of” why? you may ask. Because of my parents, my parents will beat you (not the abusive way) and ask you to repent for even the slightest things. A scenario I remember all too well during a morning devotion where I was beaten because I didn’t pray aloud. I was so angry, I kept saying to myself, if he cannot hear my whispers how can he hear my prayers which I prayed aloud not unless he was deaf and this scenario kept me away from actually knowing who God is.
After all those years, I realised that God is not like that, he is not deaf and all He cares about is my relationship with him. (And boy am I in love.) I got to know christ personally during a conference tagged *kingdom kings and queens (who is your father)* and this woman broke down how to start a personal relationship with God and I was blown.For the first time in my life, I saw who I was and I cried and I heard him just so clear calling my name and referring me towards things he called me out for and since that day God became my father, my best friend, and my lover and now I can’t see a future without God being in it.
God loves you and he cares about you even to that little pimple that seems stuck on your face, he cares. He wants you to call him father. One thing I have come to realise is that for a person to send his only son (John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life).just to reconcile us to himself. He is not wicked at all, he is ready to give all of himself to you only if you are ready to be a child. Don’t let the fact that your parents painted God as an impossible person determine who God is to you. Get to know him and get ready to fall in love with this amazing father.
For those who are ready to know God. Just say Father, am here today because I realise that my life without you makes no sense. I want you in my life and I want to start this journey of faith with you. I confess all my past sins and from now on, I want to walk with you in this pathway of holiness. I repent and ask for the forgiveness of my sins. Come into my life and make me brand new. Thank you father in Jesus name I pray Amen
